They have small shops and restaurants run by local residents. Landed in Beijing today morning and straight went to the Anant Chaturdashi programme by the Indian community at Beijing. As I am staying in the Olympic village in Beijing , where my brother lives , the whole 2008 Olympic Park and the stadiums were very close by. There is a road around 7KM connecting the Olympic park to the Forbidden city ( Old City ) , this from 6.30pm onwards is one of the centre for cultural activities , dance and singing , all road side. Yesterday we visited two places . First was the Great wall of China , a little more than one and a half hour drive from Beijing and the second was the Summer Palace. The visit to the summer palace was more fun as we had never heard about it against the Great wall of China , which we read about regularly.
