We had an amazing time exploring North Kerala. We started with beautiful beaches & peaceful backwaters of Nileshwar, moved on to the stunning sea views at Bekal and ended our trip in the cool, green hills of Wayanad. Must do activity at Wayanad is Zipline they are plenty at Vithri. Overall the whole trip was perfect mix of beach vibes, backwater and mountain air admist tea plantations. On Holi weekend we went to North Kerela. One can easily explore this area on a weekend trip. We took flight to Calicut and booked five days car went all the way to Nilesheshwar which is as good as Allepey for backwater with plenty of houseboats to cruise/ stay. Stayed at malabar resort it was just 100 steps away from beach would recommend staying there ( one of few properties where your room is that close to beach) From Nileeshwar Bekal is close. We would recommend staying in Bekal for two days good properties are Taj Bekal and Gateway Bekal. One can reach Bekal from Manglore also. Can take one side flight to Mangalore and other from Calicut(Kozikode) we took flight to o& fro from Calicut which we regret later. Bekal fort is worth visiting there are stunning views of Arabian Sea from Fort. Route from Bekal to Wayanad was beautiful with tea valleys all around . There are a lot of treehouse stay in this area. We stayed at Taj Wayanad situated on bank of Banasura Dam.
