The Amarnath Yatra is much more than a pilgrimage—it’s a journey of faith, endurance, and divine grace. Our experience began with one of the biggest challenges: obtaining the permit and the mandatory RFID card on the very first day of darshan. Despite the uncertainty and long process, everything eventually fell into place, strengthening our belief that Baba Barfani calls only when the time is right.
We stayed in Baltal, where accommodation is limited to tents and containers. We chose a container, which provided a little more comfort before the demanding trek ahead. Our day began at 3:00 AM as we prepared for the sacred journey. After crossing multiple security checkpoints, we finally started the 14-kilometre climb from Baltal to the Holy Cave. The route is one of the steepest and most physically demanding pilgrimages, testing every step and every breath. Yet, the moment we had darshan of the divine Barfani Shiv Ling, every ounce of pain and exhaustion disappeared. It was a feeling beyond words—peaceful, powerful, and deeply spiritual. The 14-kilometre descent was equally challenging, requiring patience and determination. One of the most heartwarming aspects of the Yatra was the continuous service offered through the langars lining the entire route from Baltal to the Holy Cave. Their selfless hospitality, warm meals, refreshments, and encouragement kept thousands of pilgrims going. The Amarnath Yatra is truly unforgettable, unimaginable, and unparalleled—a once-in-a-lifetime experience that leaves your body exhausted but your soul forever enriched. Har Har Mahadev!
