This trip was to be with my friend’s ( dr Goswami) family ,who came from USA, his daughters family came from UK and local India brother family join From Damoh. We joined them in Hassan Karnataka by flying to Bangalore and then taking four hour taxi, ride. Our stay in Hassan was in Hoysala resort, which was very good and sharing some photos of the resort

Then we went to Halebidu. There were three famous group of temples, Jain group of temples and temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. They all temple are about 900 years old and built in typical Hoysala architecture design, which is more like a star shape rather than round or square. Rule was for 3 1/2 centuries. One is so impressed with the very intricate, carving of statues, different designs of pillars and super carving of the roof. Most of the stachues are appreciable in spite of damage by Delhi Sultan. On outdoor side of the temple, there are couple of running borders, lowest one was that of elephant, then lions, beautiful design then stories of Mahabharat and Ramayana. All elephants were different than each other.
