Absolutely true. We spent 3 days in Humphi. My daughter and her family are rick climbers and they said it is haven for rock climbers. We climbed half way to those steps and hot sun but Ram and I decided to rest while rest of the team went all the way up. Food and people were great. We stayed in the middle of the town as kids wanted to experience real India
